Crochet Pattern: Lanyard

By Rachel – 3 Comments
Crochet a simple lanyard to wear around your neck. Attach your keys, ID, or other items you don’t want to loss. Follow the instructions within the crochet pattern, to adjust the lanyard as you desire. This is a beginner level pattern, but if you need help, you can always ask me!

Skill Level: beginner crochet skill level

Finished Size: 12″ (30.5 cm) long, 1/2″ (1.5 cm) wide

Medium Weight Yarn (small amount of main color)
Crochet Hook H (4.00 mm)
Yarn needle
Key ring
crochet yarn size 4

Gauge: not important for this pattern. Use the instructions within the pattern to crochet the size you desire.

Round 1: ch 100 (or a chain that is the circumference of the your desired lanyard. Remember that lanyard will stretch), place the chain though the center of the key ring, sl st in next first ch made: 100 ch
Round 2: ch 2, hdc in each ch around, sl st in top of beginning ch-2: 100 hdc
Round 3: sl st in each hdc around, finish off: 100 sl st

Optional: with a yarn needle, sew a straight line across lanyard 1″ above the key ring. This will prevent the ring from sliding around the lanyard.

I’m a Newbee to your website but an oldie crochet addict. I will make this lanyard for myself in some girly color to wear to work. I used to frequent another website called Patterns by Dot. She had terrific patterns but is not posting any more. I miss her. Thanks for sharing.
