Love the little paws! Do you have any thoughts on how I could alter them slightly to look more like Wolf paws? I had the same sort of thought as you had…..I want to make a football game lap afghan in maroon and gold with alternating color wolf paws. I can picture it in my head but can’t seem to find a patter for wolf paws that doesn’t involve graph paper.
Or do you have suggestions on making your little paws be at the center of a granny square with the opposite color as the background of the square?

Good question…. I had tried to play around with another type of “paw” for our high school, DD is in elementary, but it didn’t work for me. I ch 3 and then did 4 dc in the first ch and then 2 sc and then 3 trc, 2sc sl st to the 3 ch of the first ch 3. That kind of gives you that true paw look. As for the toe pads you could stick with the round pads or you could.. ch 5 sl st in the 3rd ch from hook, trc, sl st all in the same dc. This would give you a picot that could look like a nail. Not sure if that would all work together for you or not but you are more then welcome to give it a go. Please let me know how it all turns out.

As for making the paws for a granny square I would have to play around with that one for a bit. I think you have given me something else to do now!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope that whatever you make you will stop by and show me! I love to see what people are doing out there!

I love these you are so clever. I would like to do some for my local cat shelter. Ideal for fund raising. I wonder if you would mind? I would be very grateful for any advice from you.
    Kindest regards
    Sharon and 7 rescued cats.

I’m so glad that you like them! I don’t mind at all if you make them to sell, as long as you don’t sell the pattern its self. Another ideal would be to use worsted weight yarn and add a key ring to them. I made quite a few of these for the next fundraiser.

I love these pawprints and would love to make them. I have not crocheted in years. where can I find this pattern? I can’t seem to find it on this site. Thanks!

Sarah, I’m glad my earrings have you getting your hooks back out! If you look under the photo you will see, in green, Paw Print Earrings. Just click on that link and it will take you to the PDF version of my pattern. You will have to have Adobe Reader to view it, so you may need to install that first. It is a free program that doesn’t take long to install. Here is the link for that. http://get.adobe.com/reader/

I hope that you can send me a photo of your finished earrings as I would love to see them!!!

I am also having problems accessing the pattern, and clicking on the green “Paw Print Earrings” as suggested above does not work.

These earrings have been a hit at my daughter’s school (the Cougars). Girls are lining up to see them on the prize table at Family Fun Night.

    Thanks for sharing!
