Materials:
Sm amt 4-ply WW yarn (rust, orange, cornmeal, lt yellow, gold, burgunder yr dk red, brown)
Crochet hook size H/8 (5.00 mm)

Finishing Materials:
Glue gun//glue
1 (1/8" dia) plastic eye

Finished Size: 7 1/2" W x4 3/4" T
Gauge: Not important to over all size

Skill Level: Easy

Special Stitches:
Dc Dec: (yo, insert hook in indicated st, yo, pull up a lp, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook) as many times as indicated, yo, draw through all lps on hook to complete the st.

Turkey Feathers:

Row 1) With rust; ch 4; (4 dc) in 4th ch from hook (first 4 chs skipped count as first dc): 5 dc.

Row 2) Ch 3, turn work; (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in first st; (sk next dc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next dc) twice: 12 dc/3-ch 2-sps. Fasten off; secure ends.

Row 3) Join orange to first dc on end with a sl st; ch 3; * (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch 2 sp, dc in next dc, sk next 2 dc, dc in next dc; rep from * across; (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in last ch 2 sp, sk next dc, dc in last dc: 18dc/3 ch 2-sps.

Row 4) Ch 3, turn work; sk next dc, dc in next dc; * (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch 2 sp, dc in next 2 dc, sk next 2 dc, dc in next 2 dc; rep from * across; (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in last ch 2 sp, dc in next dc, sk next dc, dc in last dc: 24 dc/3 ch 2-sps. Fasten off orange.

Row 5) Join cornmeal to first dc on end with a sl st; ch 3; sk next dc, dc in next 2 dc; * (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch 2 sp, dc in next 3 dc, sk next 2 dc, dc in next 3 dc; rep from * across; (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in last ch 2 sp, dc in next 2 dc, sk next dc, dc in last dc: 30 dc/3 ch 2-sps. Fasten off cornmeal.

Row 6) Join lt yellow to first dc on end with a sl st; ch 3; sk next dc, dc in next 3 dc; * (4 dc) in next ch 2 sp, dc in next 4 dc, sk next 2 dc, dc in next 4 dc; rep from * across; (4 dc) in last ch 2 sp, dc in next 3 dc, sk next dc, dc in last dc: 32 dc. Fasten off; secure ends.

Turkey Body, Neck & Head: (Using brown)

Row 1) Ch 5; dc in 4th ch from hook (first 3 chs skipped count as first dc), (2 dc) in next ch: 4 dc.

Row 2) Ch 2, turn work; dc dec over next 3 sts (counts as a dc dec over 4 sts) see special sts: 1 st.

Row 3) Ch 3, turn work; (2 dc) in first st: 3 dc.

Row 4) Ch 1, turn work; (3 sc) in next dc, sl st in last dc: 3 sc. Fasten off; secure ends.

Turkey Beak: (Using gold)

Row 1) Join yarn to last sc on head with a sl st; ch 2, dc in same st. Fasten off; secure ends.

Turkey Wattle: (Using burgundy or dk red)

Row 1) Join yarn to last s on head where beak is worked with a sl st; ch 2, dc in same st. Fasten off leaving a tail.

Finishing: Thread tapestry needle with tail from wattle and join to turkey body. Weave in ends and clip short.

Turkey''s Top Right Feathers:

Row 1) With turkey RS facing, join cornmeal to end dc post on row 2 of turkey body with a sl st; (ch 3, dc, ch 2, dc) over same dc post: 3 dc/1 ch 2-sp. Fasten off; secure ends.

Row 2) Join rust to first dc on last row with a sl st; ch 3, sk next dc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch 2 sp: 5 dc/1 ch 2-sp. Fasten off; secure ends.

Row 3) Join burgundy or dk red to first dc on last row with a sl st; ch 3, sk next dc, dc in next dc, (3 dc) in next ch 2 sp, sk next dc, dc in last dc: 6 dc. Fasten off; secure ends.

Turkey''s Top Left Feathers:

Row 1) With turkey WS facing, join cornmeal to end dc post on row 2 of turkey body with a sl st; (ch 3, dc, ch 2, dc) over same dc post: 3 dc/1 ch 2-sps. Fasten off; secure ends.

Rows 2-3) Rep rows 2-3 for turkey''s top right feathers.

Turkey Feet: (Using gold)

Row 1) Turkey body RS facing, join yarn to first foundation ch (beg ch) opposite row 1 with a sl st; ch 2, sl st in same st, sl st in next ch, ch 2, sl st in same ch: 2 feet. Fasten off; secure ends.

Finishing:

Glue turkey body to tail feathers using photo for placement. Glue an eye to head, using the photo for placement. Spray coaster with water and shape on a terry towel. Let dry.
