Around the Rosy baby blanket

Around the Rosy Baby Blanket

By: Brenda G.
Aug/Sept 2005

Need:
Sport weight yarn (I used about 3 skeins of 6 oz. sportweight)
H Hook

Stitches used, sl st, ch, sc, dc, tr tog, ch2 v-st

ch2 v-st: (dc, ch2, dc)
I believe the blanket came out to be approx. 36-38" across...It is a baby sized blanket..

To make a larger blanket you could use worsted weight yarn and a J hook, just uses more yarn as well.

Chain 4, slip st to first ch to form ring.

Round 1: Ch 3, 11 dc in ring, (first ch 3 is dc now and throughout). Slip st to top of ch 3. (12 dc)

Round 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in next st and each st around. Slip st to top of ch 3. (24 dc).

Round 3: Ch 5, dc in same st,(counts as first ch2 v-st), *skip next st, (ch2 v-st) in next st; rep * around. Slip st in 3rd ch of beg ch 5. (12 ch2 v-st).

Round 4: Slip st into v-st space, ch 3, dc in same st, ch 3, *2 dc in next v-st sp, ch 3; rep * around till last sp, 2 dc in last sp, ch 1, dc in top of first ch 3. (24 dc, 24 ch 3 sps). The last setup makes a ch 3 loop for the next round, and the last dc into top is not counted as a dc.

Round 5: Ch 1, sc in space, ch 4, *sc in next ch 3 space, ch 4; rep * around. Slip st in first sc. (12 sc, 12 ch 4 sps).

Round 6: Chain 3, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next sp, dc in next sc, * (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next space, dc in next sc; rep * around. Slip st in top of chain 3.

Round 7: Slip st into next st, ch 3, dc in next 2 sts, (dc, ch 2, dc) in ch sp, *dc in next 3 sts, skip next st, dc in next 3 dc, (dc, ch 2, dc) in ch sp; rep * around. Slip st in top of ch 3.

Round 8: Slip st into next st, ch 3, dc in next 2 sts, (dc, ch 2, dc)in ch sp, * dc in next 3 sts, skip next 2 sts, dc in next 3 sts, (dc, ch 2, dc) in ch sp; rep * around. Slip st in top of ch 3.

Round 9: Slip st into next st, ch 3, dc in next 2 sts, (2dc, ch 2, 2dc) in ch sp, *dc in next 3sts, skip next 2 sts, dc in next 3 sts, (2dc, ch 2, 2dc) in ch sp; rep * around. Slip st in top of ch 3.

Round 10: Slip st into next st, ch 3, dc in next 3 sts, (2dc, ch 2, 2dc) in ch sp, *dc in next 4 sts, skip next 2 sts, dc in next 4 sts, (2dc, ch 2, 2dc) in ch sp; rep * around. Slip st in top of ch 3.

For stitch below: 5tr tog= doing a tr until last loop on hook for 5 times and then going thru all loops at the end to close it, it is a cluster stitch.

Round 12: Slip st in next st, ch 3, *5tr tog in next st, dc in next, 5tr tog in next st, dc in next, 5tr tog in next, (dc, ch 2, dc) in ch sp, 5tr tog in next st, dc in next, 5tr tog in next, dc in next, 5tr tog in next, dc in next, skip 2 sts, dc in next st; rep * around. Slip st in top of ch 3.

Brenda I just started my blog. I am a crocheter and found this pattern on your page. I am having a little trouble making it lay flat. I would like very much to post a link on my blog for it. Please understand that I am in the process of learning how to do this. Diane email jdwel02@earthlink.net
