TINY SEA HORSE #1

MATERIALS:

One ball white (001) size 10 Knit-Cro-Sheen crochet thread. No. 7 steel crochet hook. NOTE: This pattern will be worked from the inside, as you crochet, the wrong side of the work will be on the outside. You will not join the rnds, but mark the beginning of each rnd as you work.

RND 1: Ch 3, 5 hdc in 3rd ch from the hook. NOTE: Remember DO NOT join the rnds, just mark the beg of each rnd moving the marker each time you start a new rnd.

NOTE: Work in back loops only though out.

RND 2#: 1 sc in each hdc around. (6 sc)

RND 3: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)

RND 4: 2 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)

RND 5: 1 sc in each of next 6 sc, skip 12 sc (fin), 2 sc in each of next 6 sc.

RND 6: 2 sc in each of next 18 sc. (36 sc)

RND 7: 2 sc in each of next 6 sc, skip 12 sc (fin), 1 sc in each of next 18 sc.

RND 8: Skip 22 sc (fin), 1 sc in each of next 8 sc (body started).

RND 9: 1 sc in each of next 8 sc.

RND 10: Repeat 9

RND 11: Repeat 9

RND 12: Repeat 9

RND 13: Repeat 9

RND 14: Repeat 9

RND 15: Repeat 9

RND 16: Repeat 9

RND 17: 1 sc in next sc, skip next sc, around. (4 sc)

RND 18: 1 sc in each of next 4 sc.

RND 19: Repeat 18

RND 20: Repeat 18

RND 21: Repeat 18

RND 22: Repeat 18

RND 23: 1 sc in next sc, skip next sc, around. (2 sc)

RND 24: 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. (2 sc)

RND 25: Repeat 24

RND 26: Repeat 24. Keep working in this way until you have the length of tail that you want {{about 12 to 14 times}}. Then draw the thread through all the loops on the hook and break off. You can then tack the tail in place as you want it. Or you can soak it in fabric stiffener, then pat out the excess and dry it in the shape you want.

As you crochet the wrong side of the work will be on the outside. You will not join the rnds, but mark the beginning of each rnd as you work.

RND 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from the hook. NOTE: Remember DO NOT join the rnds, just mark the beg of each rnd moving the marker each time you start a new rnd.

NOTE: Work in back loops only throughout.

RND 2#: 1 sc in each sc around. (6 sc) {{NOTE: If you want a longer nose work one more rnd of 1 sc in each sc around.}}

RND 3: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)

RND 4: 2 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)

RND 5: 1 sc in each of next 6 sc, skip 12 sc (fin), 2 sc in each of next 6 sc.

RND 6: 2 sc in each of next 18 sc. (36 sc)

RND 7: Skip 20 sc (fin), 1 sc in each of next 16 sc.

RND 8: 1 sc in each of next 16 sc.

RND 9: 1 sc in next sc, skip next sc, around. (8 sc)

RND 10: 1 sc in each of next 8 sc.

RND 11: 1 sc in next sc, skip next sc, around. (4 sc)

RND 12: 1 sc in each of next 4 sc.

RND 13: 1 sc in next sc, skip next sc, around. (2 sc)

RND 14: 1 sc in each of the next 2 sc. Keep working in this way until you have the length of tail that you want {{about 12 - 14 times}}. Then draw a loop through each of the two sc''s left, keeping each loop on the hook together, then draw a loop through all three loops on the hook, but do not break off. Attach the tail to the bottom of the body with a sl st. Leaving a long tail of thread, break off and weave in the end to hide it. Weave in the end at the nose to hide it.

 

 

 

 

TINY SAND DOLLAR

MATERIALS:

One ball size 10 white Knit-Cro-Sheen crochet thread and also small amount tan or brown to sew on five daisy stitches in middle of the sand dollar. No. 7 steel crochet hook for crocheting the sand dollar and No. 11 steel crochet hook for putting the two pieces together. NOTE: Make two sand dollars, one with daisy stitches and one without then stitch the two together (right side showing).

RND 1: Ch 4, sl st to form a ring. Ch 1, work 10 sc in ring then join with a sl st to first sc. (10 sc)

RND 2#: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around then join with a sl st to first sc. (20 sc)

RND 3: * Ch 1, hdc in the same st as ch 1, hdc in the next 3 sc, ch 1 then sl st in the same st as the last hdc, sl st to the next st, around from * ending by sl st in base of the first st. NOTE: To make a little smaller sand dollar work 6 sc in ring on first rnd instead of 10 sc. {{Stitch five lazy daisy stitches on one. Then stitch one plain one on the back of the one with the daisy stitches. Stitch the two together with sl sts using a smaller size 11 steel crochet hook.}}

 

 

STAR FISH

MATERIALS:

One ball white size 10 Knit-Cro-Sheen crochet thread. No. 7 steel crochet hook (for crocheting the star fish). No. 11 steel crochet hook (for putting the two star fish together with slip stitches). NOTE: Make two stars and then sl st them together with the wrong side showing for each star fish.

RND 1: Ch 4, join with a sl st to first ch to form a ring. * Ch 11, work 1 sc in second ch from hook, 1 hdc in each of next 2 ch, 1 dc in each of next 2 ch, 1 tr in each of next 5 ch, then attach in ring with sc *, this completes 1 leg of the star fish. Work 4 more legs from * to * around. Join with a sl st to first ch of first ch 11. Break off and weave in ends. When you make the second star fish you can leave the thread intact and put the two star fish together and sl st all around the edge {{remember to keep the wrong side showing}}, when you get to the end --- break off and weave in the ends of the thread. NOTE: SMALLER STAR FISH (MAKE TWO). Work the same except each leg will be worked with, * Ch 8, 1 sc in second ch from hook, 1 hdc in each of next 2 ch, 1 dc in next ch, 1 tr in each of next 3 ch, attach in ring with a sc *.

NOTE: Use the smaller star fish pattern for the sea life pin.
