as far as the first picot (I used a whip stitch on the wrong side in the back loops only. &nbsp; It made a nice flat seam). &nbsp;Fold back front facing and collar. &nbsp;Sew either a ribbon or a crochet chain to either side of fronts and tie.</div> <bR> <div> <A HREF="#return_to_top_of_page" TITLE="crochet patterns"><U>return to top of page</U></A></div> <bR> <bR> <div> &nbsp;<A Chincilla! &nbsp;I use it to &quot;block&quot; crocheted doilies and to lay seams flat during sewing. &nbsp;Mix one part vinegar to five parts tap water in a spray bottle. &nbsp;Spray your item until slightly damp. &nbsp;Iron (using correct setting for cloth). &nbsp; This will get rid of any &quot;crinkles&quot; that have occurred during the work and keeps seams from rising back up.</div> <bR> <div> If the vinegar smell is not desired, then wash and dry accordingly. &nbsp;A retouch with an iron may be needed, but not often. &nbsp; The starch effect of the vinegar will remain in the cloth, but the vinegar smell is gone. I will generally not re-wash my crochet as the vinegar also helps eliminate any room odors.</div> <bR> <div> <A HREF="#return_to_top_of_page" TITLE="crochet patterns"><U>return to top of page</U></A></div> <div> &nbsp;<A NAME="indian_paint_brush_afghan"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></div> <div> <I><B>INDIAN PAINT BRUSH AFGHAN</b></I></div> <bR> <div> This is an old pattern my mother found the other day. &nbsp;I''m going to present it just as it''s been saved all these years, so forgive the lack of completeness. &nbsp;I''m sure you''ll do just fine with it :)</div> <bR> <div> <I><B>Materials needed</b></I></div> <bR> <div> All yarn is Red Heart 4-ply knitting worsted -</div> <div> 3 skeins black</div> <div> 3 skeins pink</div> <div> 2 skeins varigated pink</div> <div> 3 skeins blue</div> <div> 2 skeins varigated blue</div> <div> 3 skeins red</div> <div> 2 skeins varigated red</div> <div> 3 skeins lime green</div> <div> 2 skeins varigated green</div> <div> 3 skeins orange</div> <div> 2 skeins varigated orange</div> <div> 3 skeins purple</div> <div> 2 skeins variaged purple</div> <bR> <div> Size J crochet hook</div> <bR> <div> <I><B>Instructions</b></I></div> <bR> <div> Using black, chain 275.</div> <bR> <div> All rows are worked separately using single crochet. &nbsp;DO NOT TURN WORK. &nbsp;Leave 8 to 10 inches at the beginning and end of each row for fringe.</div> <bR> <div> Five rows black for border.</div> <div> Three rows pink, three rows varigated pink, three rows pink</div> <div> One row black.</div> <div> Three rows blue, three rows varigated blue, three rows blue.</div> <div> One row black.</div> <bR> <div> Continue pattern with the remaining colors.</div> <bR> <div> Finish with five rows black for the border.</div> <bR> <div> <A HREF="#return_to_top_of_page" TITLE="crochet patterns"><U>return to top of page</U></A></div> <div> <I><B>&nbsp;<A NAME="lacey_hair_scrunchie"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></b></I></div> <div> <I><B>LACEY HAIR SCRUNCHIE</b></I></div> <bR> <div> I made this scrunchie up as one of my very first projects while I was in rehab with a broken ankle and broken arm in 1998. &nbsp;I wanted to give something to all the nurses and the physical therapists as a thank you for being so kind to me (I was there for four months!) &nbsp;I''ve made them using #10 thread and Lustersheen, and both come out very nicely. &nbsp; These take no time at all to make....trust me, I have one daughter, two daughters-in-law and five nieces, I make alot of these :) &nbsp; The scrunchie in this picture was made in Lustersheen by one of the wonderful crafters who visit the about.com crochet board. &nbsp; Her name is Linda (LPGARS on the board), and I thank her for letting me share it with you.</div> <bR> <DIV ALIGN="LEFT"></DIV> <div> <IMG SRC="16900f00.jpg" border=0 width="256" height="240" ALIGN="BOTTOM" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0"></div> <bR> <div> <I><B>Materials needed:</b></I></div> <bR> <div> thread or yarn of choice</div> <div> Hook sized to what you are working with</div> <div> 1 elastic pony holder, about 2 inches in diameter</div> <bR> <div> <I><B>Instructions</b></I>:</div> <bR> <div> <I><B>*note - there is no turning in this pattern, simply work in rounds.</b></I></div> <bR> <div> Round 1 - Slip st onto a pony elastic, then sc all the way around.
